At my Baby Shower, one of the best ideas we did (thank you, Pinterest), was having everyone bring their favorite childhood book and write a note to my daughter instead of bringing a card. That way, not only do we get some great books for story time, but she will grow up with these amazing and encouraging notes from her great grandma, both grandmas and our close friends . A definite win, win in my book! And boy did everyone bring the best books! It was part nostalgic to see the books of my childhood and part emotional to read everyone’s notes to my little girl.

They say that reading to your child at a young age helps with parental bonding and developing language and communication skills. Even if your baby is barely out of the newborn stage, start reading now! Black and white books are perfect for the visual stimulation of infants. It’s never too early to start reading!
